Effective altruism is about using evidence and reason to work out how to benefit others as much as possible — and then acting on it.
We're the Amsterdam community built around that idea: people who want their work, donations and time to count for as much as they can. We meet to think hard about the world's most pressing problems, and to disagree well about them.
We have a student branch and a non-student branch. Most of our events and programs are open to both.

New to EA? Join our intro program
Every semester we run the Introductory EA Fellowship: a practical course in doing good more effectively. Each week you read, try an exercise, and then work through it together with a facilitator.
It's about method: making your reasoning checkable, comparing interventions, and acting sensibly when the evidence is thin. You finish with a plan for your own impact. No background needed.
