We are part of the Effective Altruism (EA) community: a global movement aimed at maximising our positive social impact through careful reasoning and evidence-based actions in high priority areas.
What is Effective Altruism?
Effective altruism is a research field, philosophy, and social movement. It is about using evidence and reason to to find and pursue the best ways to improve the world. It offers an approach that makes different social challenges comparable, helps prioritising between them, and supports people in taking action in ways that fit them: through their career, by donating, or by pursuing other projects or changes.
These principles are used by the global Effective Altruism community with over 200 organisations around the world.
What we do
ACTION ORIENTATION
Once we have ideas about which areas may be worth working on, we try to figure out which paths of action would be most effective: how to optimally spend our resources?
With 80,000 hours spent on it, our career is one of the biggest tools we have to make a positive difference. How to best use those hours to help solve the world’s biggest problems?

IDEA EXPLORATION
The most important factor that determines the expected social impact of your actions is probably the issue(s) you choose to focus on.
There are many potential focus areas: climate change, technological development, poverty, and much else. Our goal is to explore these areas together and learn how to prioritise between them, so you can make the right decisions.
BUILDING MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS
Joining a community can be a great way to increase your impact. First, it enables you to make many connections in one go. Second, a group of people working together can achieve much more than they could individually.

The Introductory EA Program
Our introductory program is a 5-week program that introduces the key ideas of Effective Altruism. You’ll learn new concepts, frameworks and counter-intuitive ideas to help you have the greatest social impact you can.

During the academic year, we organize weekly discussions & socials, alongside a number of other events, like speaker talks and workshops. Our events are meant to support idea exploration, action orientation, and building meaningful connections.
